Terms, privacy and cookie policy

Read the JR Pass Go terms of use, privacy policy and cookie policy in one place. Operated by Flygi AB, a sister website of Getjrpass.com.

Terms of use

1. The seller

This website, jrpassgo.com, is operated by Flygi AB, registration number 559091-4429, Sweden ("we", "us"). JR Pass Go is a sister website of Getjrpass.com. You can reach us at info@getjrpass.com. By placing an order you accept these terms, our cancellation and refund policy, our privacy policy and our cookie policy.

2. What we sell

We act as an authorized agent selling official Japan Rail Pass exchange orders. The exchange order is a physical voucher that you exchange for your Japan Rail Pass in Japan. JR determines eligibility, redemption, covered services, seat reservations and activation. The JR rules in force at the time of exchange apply to your pass.

3. Eligibility

The Japan Rail Pass is for travelers entering Japan with Temporary Visitor status. Japanese nationals must have lived outside Japan for at least 10 consecutive years and show a certificate from a Japanese embassy or consulate. You confirm that every traveler in your order meets the eligibility rules. Orders placed for travelers who are not eligible cannot be exchanged in Japan.

4. Passenger details

Each passenger name must match the passport exactly. You are responsible for the accuracy of names, nationality, ages and travel dates. Name changes are free with cancellation insurance. Without insurance a name change costs €40 per ticket plus a new shipping fee.

5. Your travel responsibilities

You are responsible for holding the correct entry status and any visa required, bringing your original passport and documents, and exchanging your voucher within 90 days of issue. The voucher is sent physically and cannot be replaced by an email or a copy.

6. Prices and payment

Prices are set in EUR. Prices shown in other currencies are converted with daily exchange rates for your information, and the charge is made in EUR. Pass prices, cancellation insurance, shipping and the order total are shown before you pay. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your order is confirmed once payment is completed.

7. Delivery

We ship your voucher with tracked delivery to the address you provide. Orders placed within 10 days of departure are at your own risk. Orders more than 90 days ahead are issued and shipped closer to your departure date so the voucher stays valid.

8. Cancellation insurance

Cancellation insurance costs €39 per ticket. With insurance you may cancel for any reason within 90 days of purchase and receive 100% of the pass value back once the voucher is returned to us.

9. Cancellations and refunds

Without insurance, or after 90 days, refunds are 85% of the pass value minus transaction fees both ways, within 12 months of purchase. Vouchers must be returned physically and you pay the return shipping. Lost, damaged or activated passes and shipping fees cannot be refunded. Full details are in our cancellation and refund policy.

10. Right of withdrawal

Japan Rail Pass exchange orders are travel services for a specific period. The statutory 14 day right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not apply to passenger transport services. Our own cancellation and refund policy applies instead.

11. Liability

We are responsible for delivering a valid exchange order to you. We are not responsible for train schedules, service changes, JR decisions on eligibility, or costs caused by incorrect passenger details or missing travel documents. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights.

12. Complaints and disputes

Contact info@getjrpass.com with any complaint and we will answer as quickly as possible. Swedish law applies. Consumers in the EU may also turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) or the EU online dispute resolution platform.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version published when you place your order applies to that order.
